ABOUT SIMONA
Simona Antonia Duque (they/she), is a New York-based, queer, nonbinary, Colombian American psychotherapist, herbalist, and coach specializing in gender, sexuality, and psychedelics. They are committed to providing trauma-informed and anti-oppressive care, which includes engaging in ongoing radical cultural humility. Simona’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, collaborative, and holistic. Believing in the power of a trusting therapeutic alliance, they aim to create a warm, compassionate, and affirming container where clients feel seen in their authentic selves. Their background in plant medicine, nightlife, Dharma practice, and creative expression offers rich experiential knowledge that shapes their integrative approach as a therapist.
THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES
Simona’s practice is informed by liberatory and decolonial frameworks rooted in harm reduction and pleasure positivity. They draw on strengths-based, mindfulness-based, and somatic approaches to support clients navigating trauma, systemic oppression, stressors, grief, shame, and other challenging experiences. Offerings include Trauma Therapy, Sex Therapy, Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP), and Psychedelic Harm Reduction & Integration Therapy (PHRI).

Simona works with adults and relationships, with a focus on gender, sexuality, sexual trauma, spirituality, and non-ordinary states of consciousness (NOSCs), including meditation and psychedelics. Simona has experience working with queer, transgender, and gender expansive adults, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)/People of the Global Majority (PoGM), sex workers, artists, people who use drugs (PWUD), and neurodivergent individuals. They offer services in English and Spanish.

Healing isn’t linear. Self-compassion and attunement with our inner wisdom is ongoing, especially in a relentlessly painful and uncertain world. Simona is honored to support their clients along this windy, bumpy, yet exquisite path of remembering and reconnecting, towards healing and transformation.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Simona holds a MSW from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, a BA in Critical Race, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Humboldt State University, and completed the Sacred Vibes Apothecary Spiritual Herbalism Apprenticeship program. Simona has postgraduate training in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration (PHRI) from Fluence, a leading educational research center in psychedelic-assisted therapy.
